Meet Nigel Roberts

Nigel founded Bluenose in 2001 and serves as President and licensed Portfolio Manager. With over 35 years of investment experience, he brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to working with clients. Nigel specializes in all aspects of portfolio design and management—from developing investment policies to analyzing and selecting securities— with a focus on delivering strategies tailored to each client’s needs.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. Nigel is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, a member of the CFA Institute, and previously served six years on the board of the Okanagan CFA Society. He has also been a registered professional engineer in both British Columbia and Ontario.

Nigel has contributed to publications including the Globe and Mail and Financial Post and has been interviewed on investment topics in national and local publications.

Outside of work, Nigel is an avid photographer and tennis enthusiast who enjoys travelling the world. He’s also a proud father of three adult children and cherishes the time they spend together.
